Plastic waterproof box - ABS material:
The material of plastic waterproof boxes is mainly ABS resin (acrylonitrile styrene butadiene copolymer, ABS is the acronym for Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), which is a thermoplastic polymer material with high strength, good toughness, and easy processing and molding. Due to its high strength and corrosion resistance, it is often used to manufacture plastic waterproof boxes.
Waterproof boxes made of this material are generally industrial gray in color, opaque, and can be dyed according to customer needs. Due to different usage scenarios, waterproof boxes such as radiation and flame resistant have also emerged.
The waterproof boxes circulating in the market are divided into three levels:
1, International brand waterproof box, as time has proven its quality, but the price is relatively expensive;
2, High end waterproof boxes in China, with emerging companies aiming to create their own brands, are made of imported new materials, and their prices are relatively in line with the domestic market.
3, Low end domestic products, applied to projects that do not require waterproof grade and quality, usually made of secondary or tertiary materials, with the advantage of low price.
Plastic waterproof box - transparent material:
The main material for transparent plastic waterproof boxes is PC. Polycarbonate, abbreviated as PC, is a colorless and transparent amorphous thermoplastic material. Its name comes from its internal CO3 group.
The main difference between waterproof boxes made of this material and ABS waterproof boxes is transparency, as shown in the above picture.
Metal waterproof box - made of iron or stainless steel
Waterproof boxes made of iron or stainless steel are metal waterproof boxes. Compared with plastic waterproof boxes, metal waterproof boxes have stronger explosion-proof performance, resistance to impact, and environmental adaptability. However, compared to waterproof boxes of the same volume, metal waterproof boxes have significantly higher quality and poorer insulation than plastic waterproof boxes. At the same time, their height is generally above 1M, and their cost is relatively high. Therefore, they are mainly used for large distribution cabinets, switch boxes, and other applications.
Fiberglass Waterproof Box - Fiberglass
As the name suggests, fiberglass waterproof boxes are made of fiberglass and can replace or outperform iron waterproof boxes in terms of their functionality. Glass fiber has higher temperature resistance, non flammability, corrosion resistance, good insulation and sound insulation than organic fiber (especially glass wool), high tensile strength, and good electrical insulation (such as alkali free glass fiber). But it is brittle and has poor wear resistance. Fiberglass is mainly used as an electrical insulation material, industrial filtration material, anti-corrosion, moisture-proof, thermal insulation, sound insulation, and shock absorption material. It can also be used as a reinforcing material.
